Bio
Dr. Alessi graduated from Middlebury College as Salutatorian where he earned his bachelor’s degree and went on to earn his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed General Surgery Residency and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he remained as Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery for Dartmouth Medical School until joining the staff at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania. While at Geisinger, Dr. Alessi held an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery through Temple University and served as the Medical Director for the Vascular Laboratory earning the credential of Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). In 2010, Dr. Alessi moved to Boise, ID to develop the vascular program for Saint Alphonsus Health System. While at Saint Alphonsus, he oversaw the development of vascular services including the building of two state of the art hybrid operating rooms staffed by a dedicated operating room team. In July 2018, Dr. Alessi started Alessi Vascular Surgery, PC as the next step toward advancing the care of patients with vascular disease in Idaho. Dr. Alessi is board certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He has been recognized for his clinical expertise, excellence in teaching, and for humane and ethical values. Dr. Alessi is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and an active member of several medical societies including the Society for Vascular Surgery.
